What is Freedom?

The following note is taken from the famous author’s dialogue with his readers. As of my most beloved authors, Brazilian Paulo Coelho offers a relevant conception of freedom and relates to the soul ideal of freedom, with unmistakably practical, however poignant overtones.

“Freedom is not the absence of commitments, but the ability to choose my commitments.
(Libertad no es la ausencia de compromisos, sino la capacidad de elegir los mios)”

Would you also agree that Coelho’s freedom understanding must be pivotal to leading and engaging in a happy, fulfilled life?

Personally I agree with him, and feel also that participation in his conception of freedom – would ensure an inner agreement, which benefits both mind and soul, or otherwise said, heart and health.
