Art for Africa, Annie Lennox update

It’s been a while since I’ve updated Annie Lennox’s support of women in Africa. So, long awaited (and I have the reason that I’m officially behind in my blog, in general, as I am hoping to upgrade it to website material – That’s technical stuff!) All the same – here is a cut and paste copy for general reading information:

“Africa Foundation: is developing the Art for Africa auction, to be held at Sotheby’s on Monday 21 September 2009. For the first time, this auction brings together work from the leading contemporary artists from South Africa and the United Kingdom, including Annie Lennox, in a collaboration to raise funds for orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa. The auction will be preceded by an exhibition of the work at Sotheby’s in London from 16 – 21 September.
Art for Africa approached leading contemporary artists in the UK and South Africa and asked them to contribute a piece of their work – and in some cases a work created especially for the occasion – for sale, by auction, to raise funds for orphaned and vulnerable children supported by Africa Foundation and joint beneficiary, Ikamva Labantu. The contributing artists showcase both long-established contemporary artists as well as a new generation of award-winning, rising stars.”

Wonderful news! Our shining light is advancing her supernova in various forms of art.. and I am so happy we can still support Annie’s tremendous efforts for SING also in general. I am looking forward to more news on the topic, and shall endeavour to keep us posted!

Love, and Light,

  1. Fantastic cause, I’m sure there will be some exceptional work at the exhibition and at the auction from the artists taking part. We shall definitly spread the word about this!
