Style Spotlight and SINGing Activist – Annie Lennox

Annie performed at this year’s Cannes Festival Cinema Against Aids Gala, on 21st May. There we were breathtaken not only by her performances, which included “Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves” and “There Must be an Angel” – but also by her style and choice of dress for the illustrious occasion.

Annie wore a full-length turquoise cheongsam set with a fuschia underlay, and accompanied by elegant black gloves, to complete her look.

She continues to hit the right notes both in her red carpet looks and more importantly her performances the world over. We were excited to hear that Annie’s upcoming schedule includes unplugged performances in South Africa, representing her devotion to the SING campaign behind her constant roles in humanitarian activism. Scheduled for 8 July, 2009.

While it certainly wont be Annie’s first visit to the country, it in fact marks her first solo, unplugged performance there, to be held at Montecasino Teatro.

Event spokesperson Penny Stein says,

“Audiences will get to see the star at her best; up close and personal, where she will be accompanied by nothing other then her piano and her stories encountered along her journey to stardom and to highlight the HIV/Aids pandemic.”
